The 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS was a high-performance muscle car that was part of the second generation of Chevelles produced by Chevrolet from 1968 to 1972. The SS (Super Sport) version of the Chevelle was known for its powerful engines, aggressive styling, and high-speed capabilities.

The 1971 Chevelle SS was available in two different versions, the SS 396 and the SS 454. The SS 396 was equipped with a 6.5-liter V8 engine that produced 350 horsepower, while the SS 454 came with a 7.4-liter V8 engine that produced 365 horsepower. Both engines were paired with a four-speed manual transmission as standard, with an optional three-speed automatic available.

In addition to its powerful engine, the 1971 Chevelle SS also featured a sporty design with a bold front grille, hood scoop, and dual racing stripes. The interior was also upgraded with bucket seats, a center console, and a sporty steering wheel.
